The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett [Review]

I read the two volumes of the "Pillars of the Earth", and I don't even know how to describe them, they were simply fantastic.

Despite the almost 1,000 pages, I may as well say that it was completely worth it. It's an interesting way to see the differences between medieval and modern times, specially by the way the religion's impact is portrayed.

At first sight, "Building a cathedral" does not arouse much interest, but it is so much more than that. It is a whole set of intrigue, romance and complications that really instill emotions in who reads it. The entire set of characters gathers different personality traits which often makes you have to change your point of view in order to understand their actions and thoughts.

Said that, it was probably the most page-turn book I've ever read. Certainly one of my Top 20.

Final Rating: 5/5
