I am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes [Review]

I have pretty mixed feelings about this.

This book presents an ambitious story in which two strong characters have their stories crossed more than once, accompanied by various secondary characters who help the unfolding of the story.

As for the main characters, on one hand we have Pilgrim, the typical patriot that after a certain time in the secret services, due to all the disadvantages of that world, decides to move away and start a new life.
As for the Saracen, he is also a patriot (in this specific case, a Saudi) that due to remarkable experiences of his childhood, decides to change the world according to his ideals.

It was so hard for me to get through the first 100 pages, I think I read them at least 3 times. As I do not like to leave books half way through, I made an effort and tried to continue and I can say that it was worth it.

The thing I liked about this one is that it has a very thoughtful and intelligent approach to the current terrorism, the own cultures mentioned in the book and the human competence (as for the sense of doing the impossible to get something).

Anyway, this book has had great reviews. In this sense, I recommend you to read for yourselves and see if you have the same opinion as me.

Final Rating: 3,5/5
